What Students are Saying:

What surprised me the most is how easy it was to make a difference. It took only an hour of my day to help give back to the Syracuse community. Making hygiene bags and getting to know others at Syracuse through the interfaith day of service and learning was a highlight of my week. I would love to participate in this program again!

The Interfaith Day of Service and Learning was a great experience that I would 100% attend again. When the founder spoke to us,  I learned how important it is to let other people know they are cared for and valued. The experience taught me a lesson that I will carry forever.

I had a wonderful time last Sunday during our Interfaith Day of Service and Learning. I am glad I was able to be a part of this experience because it not only exposed me to others who shared their differing religious beliefs but allowed me to gain some valuable advice from students my age who had a deep relationship with their faith. After volunteering with We Rise Above the Streets, I was inspired by the work of this organization which helps bring smiles and comfort to those in need. Hopefully, in the future, I can attend some of their sandwich-making events on Saturdays in the hope of possibly connecting with those who are in the community and bringing a smile to their faces.

I really enjoyed the first part of the day when we all gathered in the Noble Room and learned a little bit about one another. The questions seemed simple at face value, but they turned into deep, thoughtful conversations. I learned that many share the same basic values as me, just with different names depending on their faith.

It’s so important for all of us to be part of our community and take the initiative to serve the greater good.

The interfaith service day was a great way to share my love for giving back to local communities with people of different faiths. It’s important to realize though we share different beliefs, when we come together as one, we all make the world a better place. I look forward to being involved in the next interfaith service day!
