Hendricks Chapel Food Pantry Guidelines

Welcome to the Hendricks Chapel Food Pantry!

A food pantry is a distribution center where people experiencing food insecurity can receive food. The Hendricks Chapel Food Pantry directly serves students of Syracuse University and the SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry. Low-income persons who need help providing food for themselves or their families may also be referred to a food pantry within their communities. Our food pantry is supplemental. If you require more assistance, please contact Hendricks Chapel and we can provide additional resources.

Guidelines:

  • Students may visit the pantry once per week. This one visit can be to either the Hendricks Chapel location or the location on South Campus.
  • Please bring your physical SU/SUNY ESF Student ID card. You must present your SU/SUNY ESF ID card to the pantry volunteer.
  • There is a limit of two bags per week— one for pantry items and one for produce.
  • When it is your turn to use the pantry, please do not use your cell phone.
  • Toiletry items are limited to one item (i.e., toilet paper, paper towels, laundry pods, soap, etc.) per student, per visit.
  • Students cannot pick up items for friends or roommates.
  • If you require food outside of pantry hours, you will be offered an emergency supply bag to hold you over until we open. Please email chapel@syr.edu if class, work, or other predicaments prohibit you from getting food during our open hours.
  • Please be kind and respectful to all Food Pantry staff & volunteers.

To create a positive and organized environment for all our guests, those unable to adhere to these guidelines may be denied access to the Food Pantry.

By submitting the food pantry check-in form, you are acknowledging your awareness of the food pantry guidelines.
